Shannon Anderson of Rensselaer, whose awarding winning children’s book “I Love Strawberries,” received the national book of the year award from Farm Bureau, will be a speaker at this event for girls ages 11 to 18. Our news department spoke with Shannon about her appearance at last year’s event, her topic this year, future books she has planned, and about where to go online to sign up for this year’s Empowering Girls event.
