Three people were found shot at a residence approximately 5 miles southwest of Wheatfield, after 1 a.m. Sunday. In a press release from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, deputies said they heard gunshots when they arrived. Inside they found a deceased female, later described as 36 year old Sarah Bukur and a 43 year old male, Michael Bukur, who was critically injured. Both had been shot and Michael Bukur, was taken to a medical facility, and had died. Also, found outside the residence, was a 17 year old female, who also had been shot and was initially in critical condition. She was also taken to a hospital, but her name was not released due to her age. County law enforcement said others were found at the residence uninjured. The press release said law enforcement was confident that the incident was isolated and that there was no further threat to the community. The investigation is continuing.
