According to a report from The Athletic, Milwaukee Bucks three-time All-Star Khris Middleton is recovering from two arthroscopic surgeries on his ankle that took place earlier this offseason.

Bucks head coach Doc Rivers also announced on a broadcast of the team’s summer league game that Middleton had surgery this summer, saying in part: “he was injured, you know, through the playoffs … and just played because, you know, no one else was playing. He played terrific. He had surgery in the summer, but he’ll be fine by the beginning of camp, which is good for us.”

The 32-year-old Middleton underwent a successful surgery on his left ankle immediately following the season, which he injured in an early February game against the Phoenix Suns when he landed on Kevin Durant’s foot while landing after a jump shot.  Then during the Bucks’ first-round playoff loss to Indiana, Middleton sprained his right ankle in Game 2 on April 23 (he remained in the game and finished the series). Middleton also had an arthroscopic procedure on his right ankle in mid-June. Per league sources, he is already back on the court and “doing great.” He is expected to be ready for the start of next season

Middleton has dealt with multiple injuries over the last few years, beginning with a knee sprain in the 2022 playoffs that ended his season in the first round; an offseason left wrist surgery in 2022; and underwent right knee surgery in the summer of 2023.

Middleton is coming up on his 13th year in the league; last season, he averaged 15.1 points, 5.3 assists and 4.7 rebounds on 49.3% shooting from the floor and 38.1% shooting from three in 55 games for the Bucks.
