National Bison Day at Kankakee Sands in Newton County

National Bison Day, is November 2nd, and it is a nationwide observance of America’s national mammal. Kankakee Sands members will observe this day where some 120 Bison roam on thousands of acres of prairie, about two miles north of State Road 14, just west of U. S. 41, in Newton County. The new visitors area will be introduced as well. We spoke with Project Director for Kankakee Sands, Trevor Edmonson, about the day and what else can be found at the site.
