Rensselaer Central To Withdraw from Hoosier Conference

Supt. Curt Craig talks about beginning this process, as well as:  finalizing next year's budget; a bond issue for upcoming projects; approval of the 2025-2026 calendar;  increase in enrollment; and, facililty upgrades.

 

Rensselaer City Council Meeting Report 10/14/24

Our news department spoke with Mayor Jeff Phillips on Tuesday (10/15), and he reported on the Board of Public Works and the City Council meetings.  Two new firefighters were sworn in; removing some trees on city property;  a public hearing on the proposal to close Scott Street, at the railroad crossing; the city's golf cart ordinance; the upcoming ribbon cutting for both Filson Park and the Fire Training Tower; and, more.

 

Rensselaer Urban Forestry Council Receives Grant

Karen Stanley, a member of the Rensselaer Urban Forestry Council (RUFC), and grant writer for the organization, talks about receiving a sizeable grant to plant trees and to have a computerized inventory of the location of the trees.  She also talks about the founding and the purpose of the RUFC, and that any trees planted must be on city property
