Newton County Punkin’ Vine Fair July 9-13

Newton County Fair Queen & Teen Contestants

The  Newton County Teen and Queen Pageant is Monday night, July 8th, at 8 p.m., at the fairgrounds.  The Little Miss and Mister Pageant, begins the evening at 6:30.  Here are the queen and teen contestant interviews with a brief introduction from our news department.

 

Wolcott Summer Festival

The event includes many activities for the whole family, starting at 5 p.m. ET, on July 5th, and running all day Saturday, July 6th, in the Wolcott Town Park. Registration to be guaranteed a tee-shirt for the 5k, has expired. We spoke with President of the festival, Michelle Earney, about all the events.

 

Brook (Community Club) 4th of July Festival

The event begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday with a Corn Hole Tourney at Brunton Park. The fun continues on Thursday, and concludes with fireworks.  Check out the Community Club of Brook facebook page. Club member LeAnn Snodgrass has more information.

 

Fowler 4th of July Festival

Festivities begin Wednesday afternoon, July 3rd, and continue all day Thursday, July 4.  Fireworks at approximately, 10 p.m., Eastern Time, on the 4th.  Festival Coordinator, Laura Fisher, has more of what's planned.

 

U. S. Senator Mike Braun

Senator Braun visited counties in northern Indiana last week, as he continued his visit to all 92 counties.  After visiting Fair Oaks Farms on Wednesday, he stopped at Markstone Trucking, east of Rensselaer, and before he spoke to a group of citizens, we had a chance to ask him a few questions.
