INTERSTATE 65 RE-OPENS, SOUTH OF STATE ROAD 2

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) Facebook page announced that the stretch of the interstate, southbound, at State Road 2 (the Lowell Exit), has reopened, following overnight work to replace a large section of the roadway and clean-up, following the semi-tractor and trailer fire, about one mile north of State Road 10, around one p.m. on Monday.   No one was injured in the fire

 

Rensselaer Central School Board Meeting (04/15/25)

Supt. Curt Craig talks about a number of discussion points from the meeting:  praising FFA students; project updates (including new football field poles and lights); student transfers into RCSC; less funding from the State of Indiana, in the next few years; graduation and award night dates, and more.

 

Tri-County School Corporation Report

Supt. Patrick Culp talks about something new with the school's Health Occupations Program, and a visit that author Tricia Brown will  make to the school corporation. Tricia wrote the true story entitled "Bobbie the Wonder Dog", about the animal's walking journey made from Wolcott, Indiana, back to his home in Silverton, Oregon.

Jasper County Public Library

Director at the library, Evie Parrish, talks about programs coming up in the near future, including: the Underground Railroad in northwest Indiana, and two authors sharing their latest works.  Also, Evie has information on the library locations for these programs, she talks about upcoming programs and how you can find out more about what all three locations of the library have to offer.

 

 

State Representative Kendell Culp of Rensselaer

We spoke with Representative Culp about various bills as the Indiana State Legislature nears adjournment.  We asked about Senate Bill 1, the Property tax/Local Income Tax bill, signed into law; the possibility of eliminating  Superior Court Judges in Pulaski and Newton Counties, and nine other counties; modular, nuclear reactors technology; and the state's revenue forecast.
